University of the Cumberlands Expells Student For Being Gay

The University of the Cumberlands, formerly know as Cumberland College, expelled student based on biblical hatred. Jason Johnson, a sophmore, has a MySpace.com page where he discusses his homosexuality. The university is a private religious school. This seems to make it ok that they descriminate against homosexuals. They forbid having sex outside of marriage and homosexual sex. Looks like some xian wackos are running that school. I am surprised this happened. I thought there were laws to protect people from discrimation. (I know that the Boy Scouts of American discriminate in this way, but a university?) Just think of the outrage if they expelled someone for being a Jew or an African American. I think the whole country would react differently. I hate it when religion causes harm. I think that this story makes xianity look bad, not homosexuals. I hope that Jason Johnson sues the university for lots of money. I think that they should pay for their stupidity based on biblical teachings. The University of the Cumberlands needs to know that homosexuals are human beings just like everybody else. Check out the article at The Courier Journal.
